Meet Dr. Cuong Huynh
Education
Dr. Cuong Huynh was born in Saigon, Vietnam, and immigrated to the U.S. with his family when he was 4 years old. He spent his childhood in Gig Harbor, Washington, where he graduated from Gig Harbor High School. He received an associate degree from Tacoma Community College and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington, before attending Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, California. He graduated with his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2006.
While at Palmer West, Dr. Huynh met his wife, Dr. Deb Bobendrier. He practiced briefly in Washington State, and then Dr. Huynh and Dr. Bobendrier relocated to Mankato to be closer to her family. They opened Discover Chiropractic in 2007 and have been serving the community they love ever since.
Discovering His Passion
Dr. Huynh was in a car accident as a child and suffered a whiplash injury that was not addressed, resulting in degeneration over time. He was unable to run and missed out on high school sports because of the injury. Finally, in college, he tried chiropractic, and his chiropractor located the problem and corrected it, helping Dr. Huynh to become himself again.
Although he had planned on a career in medicine, Dr. Huynh switched to chiropractic so he could help people the way he’d been helped—without the use of drugs.
While at Palmer West, Dr. Huynh had his first “aha moment” involving Activator Methods®. Now certified Advanced Proficient in Activator Methods, Dr. Huynh offers this adjusting technique exclusively—and is also an instructor of the method.

Away from the Office
During his time at Palmer, Dr. Huynh received the Student Service Award, Fellowship Award, Sports Council Award, and the Associated Student Government Class Representative of the Year twice. He also participated in various leadership roles and other social and academic activities.
Dr. Huynh has been involved in countless community events over the years, including being a tutor in mathematics and organizing local blood drives and food drives. He’s highly active and committed to helping create a thriving community that his two children can be proud of.
